In many ways my story if very similar to others you may have heard. I came to my spirituality in my late 30’s. I became sick with a mysterious illness that stumped doctors for over a year. When it was clear the conventional medicine was not going to help, I sought the unconventional. One of the “side-effects” of my illness was a deep evaluation of my quality of life. I began to become interested in religions from all around the world. I ravenously devoured books on religion and spirituality from Buddhism to Shamanism and everything in between. Nothing really hit me as matching what I was feeling inside—that there was much more to life than what I was experiencing. I also recognized that I felt that I was dying inside. A friend recommended a book “The Hands of Light” by Barbara Brennan. The effect of this book on my life was tremendous! It opened so many possibilities for me that I began to think that “I” could change things. Not too long after I began working with The Hands of Light I found a local Chiropractor to work with and by following his advise, and taking some medicinal supplements within 3 months I was off my medication, had no physical symptoms from my “mysterious” illness and all of my medical tests were normal. I felt alive again. How did it happen? I turned inside. I began to meditate, I changed my diet, I studied energy and healing . I detoxed the conditions that caused my illness and I found the power of healing. I was so taken by the immense changes I had made in such a small amount of time that I became interested in being a healer. Not surprisingly, I signed up at The Barbara Brennan School of Healing (then in New York, now in Florida), where I got the basics of energy work and came to understand more about who I was and who I could be. It was one of the hardest years of my life and one of the best years of my life. That was the beginning. There have been many more beginnings since then. I came to understand that I have intuitive/healing gifts. I began to do healing work with others. I developed a healing technique called Anchor Releasing. I developed and began teaching the Inner Landscapes Technique of meditation and Meditative Journaling. I began teaching energy awareness, and spirituality and I began offering my services to Twin City businesses. With time and experience I came to understand the concept of Spiritual Ecology as a state of being and it is this state of being that is celebrated here in this space— the balance of Body, Mind, Soul, Self and Spirit.
